or years you will always find a glass of coconut oil in my kitchen and bathroom. With all its vitamins, it is a multi-talent to me not to talk about the good smells. When you also want to become a coconut oil fan make sure you take care of buying the right quality. The coconut oil should be natural and cold-pressed, you can find that in a drugstore or at an organic supermarket. Today I am going to show you seven amazing tips on how you can use coconut oil for your health.
Oil pulling
Oil pulling has its roots in Ayurvedic medicine and is known to have a strong detox effect. It helps you to get rid of all the toxins your body produced the night before as well as bacteria that can cause bad breath. It reduces inflammation and improves your gum health and besides that it naturally whitens your teeth.
So how to do it? Right when you wake up before you do anything else you take a big tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth and pull it for 15-20 minutes like a mouthwash. The first time I tried I had to get used to the buttery consistency of the coconut oil in my mouth but I promise you that the coconut oil turns fluid within a few seconds through the temperature in your mouth especially when you start pulling immediately. Meanwhile, I usually make the bed or prepare breakfast to start the day. After the 15-20 minutes you spit the oil in a tissue (not in the sink) and throw it away. Afterward, I brush my teeth and drink my morning water. You can repeat the oil pulling up every other day. Because of the strong detox effect, I would not recommend doing it daily. Try it and write me about how you liked it.
Body Scrub
I just love it, even when I travel I prepare a little box of it and take it with me. It’s the most natural and best smelling peeling you will ever have and besides that, it also saves you money. Just mix coconut oil, honey, and coffee ground until you have a peeling paste, and fill it in a jar of your choice. I use it for my face and my body and the coconut and could not live without it. Extra tip: Also just as a quick lip peeling, I can highly recommend it.

Make-up remover
Coconut oil on a cosmetic cotton pad is my lifesaver when I need to remove waterproof mascara or heavy eye makeup. Afterward, I use a gentle face wash to get the remains of the oil out.
Dry hair
When your hair endings feel dry, damaged, and frizzy, the fatty acids in the coconut oil will soften your hair and trap the moisture inside. Usually, I rub a small amount between my hands and apply it from my ears down to the end of my hair. The longer you have time to leave it in the better, but it should be at least 20 minutes. Afterward, you wash your hair with a mild shampoo. For a stronger effect: Leave the coconut oil overnight, just make sure you cover your pillow with a towel. Voilà smoothy and silky hair!
Body Moisturizer
You can easily replace a chemical body lotion with pure coconut oil. And when I say body I mean the entire body because even for your intimate area coconut oil has some health benefits.
Sunburn
Coconut oil can also help you if you got yourself a light sunburn. Just rub some coconut oil after showering on your still wet skin and the anti-inflammatory effect of the oil will relieve the pain.
